Katie Mac is a ceramic artist working and living in Cardiff. Her work is handmade using her unique blend of stoneware clay and recycled paper. Each piece is finished with sand and hand signed.
Her work is a reminder of a lone person walking their dog against the water line, the variation of blue, the expanse of sea and the way the waves break on the tide and breeze.
Opening the kiln is always an exciting event as the sand reacts differently on each vessel making each one distinctive. As the process makes the piece porous the inside has been glazed to give the option of holding liquid.
